Post-qualifying car weights on formula 1

For the second race in succession, Turkish Grand Prix pole winner Sebastian Vettel will be starting Sunday's race with a car lighter than any other driver. The German will be running a shorter first stint in the Grand Prix, whereas Jenson Button has out-qualified team-mate Rubens Barrichello despite driving the heavier Brawn.

With 649.5kg (102.3st) onboard at the start, Vettel will be hoping to run away from the charging Brawns when the red lights go out and may elect to fit Bridgestone's softer, green-striped tyre in order to do this more easily. Rubens Barrichello will not be happy with the knowledge that his team-mate outperformed him, but is starting on the cleaner side of the grid and will be hoping to out-drag Button off the line.

Kimi Räikkönen's Ferrari is the heaviest car in the top six and will be looking to make best use of his KERS device for a lightning start. At the back of the field, 20th placed Sébastien Bourdais will be setting off with the largest fuel load, meaning a pre-pit-stop safety car period will play more into his hands than those due to pit earlier.

- Lightest car: Sebastian Vettel / Red Bull - 1st - 649.5kg
